Picasso Museum and Time Out for Some Tapas at El Xampanyet
Although born in Malaga Spain, Picasso spent much of his teens and early 20s in Barcelona, and maintained ties with the city throughout his life. The Picasso Museum, one of the main attractions in Barcelona, was founded in 1960 at the request of the artist.
The museum is composed of five town houses linked together into a single complex. A few of these date as far back as the 13th century. One of the joys of visiting the museum is the ambience of the surrounding Gothic Quarter. Flowers, balconies, winding streets and wonderful little shops delight the visitor around every bend.
