Most hotels in Las Vegas are the embodiment of one gimmick or another, and attempt to attract your patronage and entice you to stay accordingly. The Flamingo is no different. Unlike Paris, New York, New York, The Venetian or Luxor, the Flamingo does not present itself as a miniature yet impressive imitation of another destination, but rather uses its namesake as an attraction.
The hotel encompasses several swimming pools and tennis courts, but more importantly, a number of flamingos that reside in the palm tree gardens of Paradise Falls. The number of flamingos could hardly be called a flock, but nevertheless watching them idling about in the foliage or the carp-filled streams makes for a relaxing change from the loud, busy goings-on of the Las Vegas Strip.
There is no circus, there are no rides, no erupting volcano or fountain shows, but in reality this is no real drawback to staying at the Flamingo. Of course, there are restaurants and slot machines, gambling tables and bars, but these are complimented by various night time shows, a spa, salon and a fitness centre.
