Barcelona is a busy city at night with people bouncing from one place to the next, sometimes until the early morning hours. To find out tips on the city’s happenings, many of the news kiosks will have the magazine, Guía del Oci. The magazine is in Spanish, but it is not difficult to comprehend. This magazine is also online if Internet access is available.

Nighttime Festivities

The night scene in Barcelona happens in shifts. Many people go out to a pub for a few beers and tapas in the early evening. Dinner typically occurs later in the evening, around 10:00. Around midnight, some of the bars start filling in, including some of the wine bars. The nightclubs do not start filtering people in until one or two in the morning at the earliest. Many of the nightclubs are open until 6am.

Neighborhoods

While every neighborhood will have some form of entertainment, there are some that are well-known for night time festivities. The Gothic District and El Born are good places for pubs and tasty tapas. The narrow roads and old buildings give this area a pleasant atmosphere and a Spanish feel.
