Toulouse-Lautrec and Jane Avril Beyond the Moulin Rouge is the latest exhibition at The Courtauld Gallery, London. The installation explores the creative partnership between Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901) and his favourite model and close friend, Jane Avril.
The exhibition showcases an outstanding selection of paintings, posters and prints sourced from The Courtauld's own collection. Also featured are loans from number of international organisations, including the Victoria & Albert Museum; the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, Hartford, CT; the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, Williamstown, and many others.
The exhibition is curated by guest curator, art historian Nancy Ireson, and Caroline Campbell, Schroder Foundation Curator of Paintings, The Courtauld Gallery. Toulouse-Lautrec and Jane Avril is supported by the Gabrielle Jungels-Winkler Foundation.
