FC Barcelona, like many football clubs in Spain, is run on a “socio” system, by which the club is actually owned collectively by its socios, or members. Naturally, socios are given preferential ticketing; and with the highest membership in Spanish football at nearly 180,000, that means there is a very long queue before non-members can even get a chance at Barcelona tickets.

Built on the Passeig de Gracia in the Eixample District of Barcelona, La Pedrera is an example of Gaudi’s architectural innovation. Originally commissioned by the industrialist Pere Mila and his wife Roser Segimon, it consisted of a rooftop terrace, loft space and 6 floors and a basement. It survives today as one of Barcelona’s most important cultural spaces and a must see for visitors to the city

No es necesario argumentar mucho que la moda es un sector en alza y que ofrece incontables oportunidades de negocio a emprendedores y numerosos profesionales (modelos, estilistas, diseñadores, expertos en protocolo y RR.PP., periodistas, etc.). Hay un sector profesional altamente implicado en la moda sin el cual no podrían llevarse a cabo los desfiles y presentaciones oficiales de colecciones: el de la organización de los eventos de moda. Los profesionales de esta parcela de negocio son, como decimos, pieza clave, y ponen en marcha un enorme dispositivo para que todo el acontecimiento esté a la altura de las expectativas de público y diseñadores.

Si siempre quisiste ser parte de este negocio, si te encuentras realizando (o si ya has terminado) estudios en el área del marketing o el diseño de moda, si prefieres trabajar “detrás del telón” pero que tu labor y profesionalidad se vea reflejada posteriormente, si -además- es la moda lo que te mueve… ¿por qué no cumplir tu sueño?. En Barcelona se pondrá en marcha, en el próximo 2012, un curso de especialización en organización de eventos de moda. Esta formación tendrá su inicio el 16 de enero próximo, siendo su duración total de 5 meses, en horarios de 3 horas (de 19:30 a 22:30 ), dos días a la semana (martes y jueves), un total de 120 horas . El Curso está organizado por el I.E.D. (Instituto Europeo Di Design), en modalidad presencial.

Europe’s ruling body UEFA held its draw for the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League on December 17, 2010, with a number of intriguing encounters among the eight ties – including a rematch of last season’s final between holders Inter Milan and FC Bayern München and the 2006 final between Arsenal FC and FC Barcelona. There are also three teams who will be making their debut at the Round of 16 stage.

The history of the University of Barcelona dated back to the beginning of the 15th century. At that time, the universities in Catalonia were called Estudi General, "General Studies." In Barcelona, the earliest faculties were medicine and arts, established by King Martí l'Humà. However, it was not until 1450 that the name Estudi General de Barcelona was proclaimed. In the next centuries, the university was moved and reformed due to historical circumstances. The most dramatic should be in the 18th century when the university was transferred to Cervera by the order of King Philip V as an act of punishment for Barcelona's resistance during the Spanish Succession. Up to the present, a part of the library holdings is still in Cervera. The present building was finished in 1874.
